Argument

     People disagree about whether capital punishment is moral and if it is effective in discouraging crime. For me, capital punishment is an unusual punishment, but its positive sides are strong enough to make it an acceptable punishment in certain cases. People who agree with capital punishment usually defend their opinion with three basic reasons: it's low in cost, it's deterrent, and it’s ethically acceptable. 


     First, money is an exhaustible commodity and the government may better spend the resources on education, health, society etc., rather than on the long term imprisonment of murderers and criminals. It is not fair at all to let criminals benefit from the government's money, which is people’s money, to feed them and provide necessities of life for them, while their victims suffer or are dead.

 
   Second, does the death penalty deter? It would seem that in some countries (e.g. Saudi Arabia), which almost always carry out death sentences, there is far less serious crime. This tends to indicate that the death penalty is deterrent. A Saudi person that I talked to about this topic confirmed this fact. He said that because of the death sentence, almost everyone respects the laws. In addition, the death penalty is more likely to be deterrent where the crime requires planning and the criminal has time to think about the possible consequences.     


   Third, capital punishment is considered acceptable by most of the religions. For example, the     Bible prescribes death for murder and many other crimes including kidnapping and witchcraft, and every Christian knows the famous “eye for eye”. In Islam for example, it is similar, “And We (God) ordained therein for them: Life for life, eye for eye, nose for nose, ear for ear, tooth for tooth and wounds equal for equal. But if anyone remits the retaliation by way of charity, it shall be for him an expiation.” Similarly to Christianity and Islam, the official teachings of Judaism approve the death penalty in principle. Consequently, almost all the religions approve the death penalty and assume that it is God’s order.


     Fourthly, and immediate reason is that killing someone is unfair because victims of murder are gone forever. In addition to that, their families suffer from their loss. When we execute murderers, we strike fear in the hearts of people. Therefore, Capital punishment has a good aspect, because we avoid a lot of problems like revenge from the family of the victims. In some cultures, people seek revenge by hurting the person who has hurt them.


   Fifthly, There are a lot of people that disagree with capital punishment. They say that countries which have the death penalty have higher crime rates than those that don't, and more severe punishment only inspires more severe crimes. They also say that we have to respect right to life, and people can change in prison.
 
   In conclusion, capital punishment seems a very hard type of punishment but I believe that death penalty should not be abolished especially for the fact that it is ethically acceptable and because of its deterrence

As you see we would have a lot of important things to talk about even if we combine them.In my case, my first choice would be sports. Soccer is one of the most important things in my life. That's why I feel like this would be a wonderful topic for me which I can talk or write a lot. I believe that the things that came from the heart always succeed . Soccer is one of the best things that I'm happy when I practice it, I do enjoy a lot to play it and speak about. For me, soccer was my life from my child, I always remember when I was in my country and my aunt or uncle asked me : what do you want us to bring you next year or when they call us from France to ask each one of us what he want to bring for him, they all the times get mad from me because I have the same answers, “I need a ball” and “New t-shirt of real Madrid team”. So they stooped asking me what I want because automatically know what I want so they bring the same stuff. Nowadays, I’m still loving soccer even if I’m not practicing it as usual but I still following watching it from TV or by checking it from net. I like to watch all the leagues but I prefer champions league or world cup, because there is only the power teams. I like also all the bigger teams but I prefer “ real Madrid”, I do like all the payers but I prefer “Zine dine zidan”.

Memoir

In my life I have had a lot of role models; they have been mostly famous people that I see on TV or on the internet. But as I grew older and matured, I soon realized that more than just famous people can be role models. One of my role models is my brother.

My brother and I are similar in a lot of things. We both grew up in the same house under the care of a good father and a very supportive mother who love us very much. My brother is six years older than me, but he never makes me feel the difference of age between us, and he also never says anything to hurt me or make me upset_from our childhood until we grew up and become young adults. My role model was always encouraging me in my life and I always took his advice after the advice of my parents. He also gave me support until now from all the sides. We were always sharing the good and the bad things as we know this life is full of the good and the bad aspects no matter the difference in age. He always wanted me to feel I’m older, and treated age as if it weren't big deal. He decided to help others who might have problems, which is why I took him as a role model, even though there are a lot of people worth taking them as a role model, such as: parents, friends, relatives, teachers, athletes, artists, comedians, kings, and even students.

Everyone in this life can have a role model. Some people choose their families, friends, relatives, and sometimes they can be athletes or teachers. To have a role model is nice, easy and one of the most important things in the universe. Every person needs a role model to take as a mentor to ask question of, and to look at his or her behaviors to take learn from their experience. My role model is one of the closest people to my heart and I’m proud of him because he has shown me that I was right when I chose him instead others.

My brother was always helped me a lot by playing soccer with me in the same team. He was always the first one who asked me about my exercise. He also was helping me inside the field or outside it. When we finished our exercise we would go together to our home, then he would advice me and encourage me and correcting me my mistakes. When he finished his exercise he would stop to watch me train and look at my mistakes to correct it for me. Moreover, he would always ask his friends who played in the same position as me to talk to me and to tell me what I should do in some cases. He would always encouraging me when our team would lose our matches. I always remembering him when he told me we don't have to get mad about the past, and we don't have to give up, we have to look to the future. Those kind of advice helped me a lot when I grow up in my life.

My role model is really a symbol of sacrifice, and whatever I say about him, I can’t describe my emotions of love and tenderness for him. Moreover, finding someone to take care of you even in the difficult moments is something exceptional in these times. He was someone never complained about the troubles that he faced when he took care of our business, never complained when I was sleeping and would never mind about anything about me in complete seriousness, my brother has been an integral part of my life, because he dedicated his life me and for to our family. After my father passed away, we decided to give my brother a lot of responsibility, he took it and he never ever gave us any complaints, and he never ever refused us any request_small or big. On the contrary, he always asked us if we needed something else. Therefore, he didn’t want to get married; just for us, he said until we get our education and make our families, he would still pay our tuition fees, and he still does until now.

In conclusion, I wish that everybody has a good role model, which he encourage you to achieve you dreams, no matter how popular they are. 

Ethnography

       To work at Star Market is one of the hard things in Providence. Star Market has good and bad aspects. People who I work with are like a family, we help each other to make everything easy. We do all this because we are here for one reason, which is to get the balance of our life, and living in a good situation, and also to get a good degree to go back to our countries to have a good job.

        Star Market is one of the popular stores in providence because of its location. It is in providence RI, right on broad St. It is also close to the freeway and down town, it's also close to two important streets in providence. Federal Hill and Elmwood Ave. Star Market is not a very big one and not a very small store at the same time, but it's really nice. It consists of a lot of things, such as stock place, or basement, which provides us the appropriate conditions to work and stock our products. Also, it has a small kitchen which is large enough for us to arrange our work tools. We also have the latest stuff like a TV, Radio, and refrigerator for milk, ice coffee, candy, and cakes.

        Star Market has a good daily income every season, because we serve all kind of people; we deal with poor and rich, crazy and wise, and also with sick and healthy. The area is really dangerous especially at night, because there are a lot of people selling drugs there. Those people have no education nor wisdom. They come in the night really high, which means they can do anything. They come to bother you and they try to play with you. They also come to eat because drugs always make them hungry. They buy sweet things a lot, which we put on the shelves to catch their eyes.

        Star Market has a deli, where customers can get fresh meat, vegetables, and fruits. We have a lot of varieties of meat, such as chicken, goat, beef, and lamb. We also give good offers, like we cut it for free and we clean it because some people do like it skinless. We have also “ halal meat” available, which Muslims like, and most of Christians fall in love with it. All these offers have reasonable prices; Lamb costs six dollars, goat costs five dollars and fifty cents, beef costs three dollars and fifty cents, and chicken costs only one dollar and seventy nine cents. In addition to that, we have lamb mix, lam leg, beef leg, chicken leg and chicken breast.

       Star Market also carries groceries. We have an arrangement of Pakistani, Indian, American, and Arabic groceries, as well as, we import from Arabic nations to perfectly provide fresh stuff. \We also have fast food like cream cheese, American cheese, and Arabic cheese. We carry also break -fast, lunch, and dinner. We sell buffalo, Harrira, Zemeta and Falafel. We do delivery to satisfy the demands of our customers.

        On the other hand, Star Market carries flavored Hookah tobacco, Cigarette, Dutch cigars, and monkeys. But the most popular one is Hookah because most people smoke it just for fun. Hookah has a lot of flavors available, like two apples, grape, watermelon, honey, rosemary, mango, strawberry, mint, and many more with for only 6.99 dollars with a special offer. They order it with drinks like coffee, latte, cappuccino, Tea, smoothies, and flavored tea. They also can order it with salads, sandwiches, shish kabab, hummus, and more. However, we sell a lot of monkeys because it doesn't show in test drugs it's not for human consumption but 80percent of our customers they smoke it, even if we told them that it is not for humans consumption, and we show them that it's on the top of the package.

       Star-market accepts every kinds of card, such as credit card, debit cards, EBT, food stamps, cash, and we do credit, too, just with the regular customers. Star-market also has signs for everything. For example, we put all the directions on the wall, like restrooms, place of candies, milk, groceries, and for employes too, to remind them to wash their hand if they go to restroom. If you go there you don't need to ask anybody, you have to follow just the pictures then you will reach what you are looking for without a hard time. It is easy to shop at Star Market.

       Star-market has healthy food because we deal with famous companies like Hood company,

they bring us milk, half and half, whole milk, low fast milk, orange juice, apple juice, banana juice, and sugar free juice. Moreover, we have a room with clean tables, clean chairs, and candles. It's specially for families and lovers, nobody else is allowed to go there. We have also a small small place for kids with a few toys just to enjoy their time with their parents.

       Star-market workers are always ready to give help to their customers. We love working there because we help each other, and because our boss never treats us as a worker. He always lets us feel like we work in our own business and even if we make mistakes, he encourage us to do things our own way instead of insisting on his, and this deal always lets us work hard.

      In conclusion, if you work at Star-market you feel that you are at your home. It is easy to work there. Nobody tells you what you should do because each one knows his job and he does it correctly. Also, working the morning shift is easier than to working the night shift.

How I see myself as a writer or reader

I think that I’m not an excellent writer. I don’t read a lot of books or newspapers but I do like to watch movies and cartoons, and I’m in love with documentaries about animals and the creation of humanity. So that's the reason why I feel I’m not a good writer or reader. I think if you want to become a good writer, you should read more and more. As you read, as you get a lot of knowledge which will help you to improve you skills in writing. Also, when you read a lot you know how authors and writers use techniques and expressions to convey certain ideas to the reader. Moreover, as a writer I’m not as strong as I want to be due to my limited of vocabulary. Also, English is my third language; my native language is Arabic, and my first foreign language is French. I really never get mad about my English because when I compare my situation with other people's I see that I’m good. After all, I speak three language, so I can go anywhere in the world and get everything easily. However, I would like to improve my writing and reading skills to become stronger and perfect my understanding of the English language to achieve my dreams. I believe that “ where there is a will there is a way”. I have to be a good writer because I want to become an agricultural engineer . I feel that a good writer is always one who is confident in his/ her writing and technique.
